Fertilization Methods

Common methods of applying plant nutrition are fertigation, soil application and foliar feeding.

Fertigation involves applying fertilizer through an irrigation system. Benefits of fertigation include a reduction in the amount of fertilizer needed, reduced leaching and lower water use.

Soil application is simply the practice of adding nutrients to the soil. Benefits include stimulated root development, reduced compaction and improved soil restoration.

Foliar technology – such as the system Floratine Foliar products are administered - delivers macronutrients and micronutrients through direct application to the plant. This is the most effective way to get nutrients onto, into and around the plant, and quickly move the nutrients in their most usable form throughout the plant.
