Kevin Cavanaugh

Kevin Cavanaugh

Kevin is a co-owner and President & CEO of Floratine Products Group, Inc. A former Class “A” Superintendent with the GCSAA, Kevin has been actively involved with golf maintenance before graduating from Horry-Georgetown Technical College in Conway, SC in 1997. He completed his internship at Augusta National Golf Club (Augusta, GA) and went on to further his career at Indian Creek Country Club (Miami Beach, FL), Card Sound Golf Club (Key Largo, FL), and The Plantation at Ponte Vedra (Ponte Vedra Beach, FL).

While the Superintendent at The Plantation, Kevin was asked to join Palmer Course Design, by the late Ed Seay, as a grow-in consultant for the company’s many rebuild and renovation projects. Through that experience and due to Kevin’s familiarity with Floratine’s product line, he decided upon a career with Floratine Products Group as a Corporate Agronomist and as the Distributor in South Carolina. He became the Vice President of Sales for FPG and later became its CEO after a successful MBO in 2007 with his brother, Mike.

Prior to his golf industry career, Kevin served in the US Army and spent several years in Europe stationed with the US Cavalry’s storied Blackhorse Regiment. He lives in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL with his wife, Melanie, and children: Mollie (12), Maggie (11), Jack (6), and Brody (3).

Mike is a co-owner and Executive Vice President of Floratine Products Group. Mike’s diverse background includes seven years as a U.S. Marine pilot flying over 100 relief missions in support of Operation Restore Hope, Somalia, Africa. Leaving the Marines as a Captain, Michael then worked for 12 years as a sales and marketing executive in the pharmaceutical industry to include Takeda / Abbot Pharmaceuticals, where he marketed products in the oncology, gynecology, and gastroenterology markets. In 2001, Mike helped launch the commercial operations for the biotech startup OraPharma, which was purchased by Johnson & Johnson in 2003, where he served as the Executive Director of Marketing and Director of Sales. In 2007, Mike merged his love for scientific sales, small company dynamics, and the game of golf and purchased Floratine Products Group in partnership with his brother, Kevin, and a private equity firm. Mike, brother Kevin, and sister, Erin, the children of a career Army officer, grew up on military bases around the U.S.. Mike fondly remembers being introduced to the game of golf at the West Point (U.S. Military Academy) Golf Course and working as a laborer for two years at the Ft. Leavenworth Golf Course in Kansas while in high school.

Michael earned a B.S., Marketing, from Penn State University, University Park, PA., both airplane and helicopter pilot certifications from U.S. Navy Flight School, Pensacola, FL., Aviation Mishap Investigator certification from The Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA., and an M.B.A. from New York University, NY, NY. He resides with his wife, Christine, daughter, Kelly, and dog beast, Cody, in Newtown, PA.

Darryl King

Darryl King

Darryl joined the Floratine family in January of 2005 and currently serves as Director of Operations – General Manager. Having sold his interest in Horizon Ag-Products, the largest manufacturer and distributor of humic acids, he brings his 30 years of experience in manufacturing and his knowledge of humics to Floratine.

Darryl is a member of the IHSS, International Humics Substance Society, and is a respected authority in the identification of Humic sources, extraction and fractionation of humic and fulvic products. He pioneered the use of humics into the fertilizer industry and developed the rates and timing of application that are still the standards today.

Darryl brings to Floratine his knowledge and organizational skills and has rebuilt the manufacturing capabilities with state of the art equipment and quality control procedures that help make Floratine the industry leader.

Darryl is married with five grown children and nine grandchildren. When away from the plant, he coaches soccer for the Collierville Lobos. He loves taking young competitive teams of young ladies and teaching them soccer skills and building self-confidence and self-esteem that will last them a lifetime. He has coached for 30 years. As one of the most interesting men in the industry his favorite quote is, “I don’t often drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis. Stay thirsty my friends.”

Timothy Cartwright

Timothy Cartwright

Tim joined Floratine in November 1999 as a chemist responsible for quality assurance, new product development and operations management. He currently serves as Vice President, Technical Services. Tim was instrumental in developing and/or improving the formulations for some of Floratine’s most popular products including Protesyn, Trical, Turgor, Floradox Pro, Propel and Free-15.

In 2004 and 2005, Tim’s responsibilities expanded to include production management and which proved invaluable for linking product design to production requirements and quality control. Additionally, when Floratine expanded its sales to the Asia-Pacific region Tim assisted Paul Dugmore with the development and technical service needs for this region. In 2007, Tim became a shareholder and co-owner of Floratine.

Tim received his B.S in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Tech in 1984 and an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lawrence University in 1986. The first nine years of his career were spent in the pulp & paper industry followed by two years in the chemical industry.

In addition Tim’s product development duties, he had the privilege to evaluate data, set up correlations and wrote the programming of the first version of Ana-Lync that went on-line in early 2001. Ana-Lync has proved to be an extremely valuable tool for turf mangers in the evaluation of their soil and water.

Tim and his family live in Collierville, TN.

Brian Hull, CPA

Brian Hull

Brian joined Floratine Products Group, Inc. in July 2007 as Chief Financial Officer. During his Floratine tenure, Mr. Hull has facilitated a management buyout, recapitalization, and purchase of a wholly owned subsidiary. He also implemented an integrated accounting system, outsourced the warehouse and logistics function, and decreased operating costs as a percentage of revenue.

Mr. Hull previously served as Controller for CB Richard Ellis from 1998 until 2007. During the first seven years with CBRE, he managed the accounting and financial responsibilities for a portfolio of CBRE managed properties. The last two years consisted of operational duties, primarily corporate client real estate transitions. Mr. Hull started his professional career with Arthur Andersen LLP from 1993 to 1998. He holds Bachelors and Masters of Accountancy Degrees from the University of Mississippi.

Mr. Hull has been married to Anne for 18 years and has two children, Ben (16) and Brooke (14). The Hull family resides in Southaven, MS.

Paul Dugmore

Paul Dugmore

Paul started in the industry with a four-year apprenticeship at Brookway Park School of Horticulture. Afterwards, he worked on several Australian golf courses from 1984-93 and was involved with maintenance and construction. He served as a golf course Construction Superintendent at Permata Sentul Golf Club, Bogor, Indonesia; Construction Supervisor - Ria Bintan Golf Club, Bintan Island, Indonesia; Construction Supervisor - Shanghai Links Golf Club, Shanghai, China; Superintendent - Pyramids Golf & Country Club, Cairo, Egypt; Surveyor - Red Hawk Golf Club, Sparks, Nevada. Currently he serves as Floratine’s Business Development Manager for the Asia / Pacific region.

Paul grew up in Goolwa, a small town at the end of the Murray River in Australia. Goolwa is an aboriginal name for “elbow”, which is how the river looks when running through the small township. He attended Victor Harbor High School, South Australia, Australia and his interests include all sports - mainly AFL, golf and tennis. He is a qualified professional tennis coach with Tennis Australia; winner of the tennis singles event at the 2011 Australia Masters Games 40-44 year category representing SA Country v Victoria and Tasmania 1983-86. He now lives in Mount Compass, South Australia. Married to Cheryl (former US Navy - they met at Cairo Rugby Club, Egypt), 2 children - Jacob (born in Reno, Nevada) and Jordyn (born in Guam).
